COLLAB PROJECT 2025 - DEADLINE JAN 30

We are looking for artists to join our collaboration project and present a work of art or a performance at Midnight Masquerade 2025!

Hi artist! Are you looking for a way to expand your horizon, to learn about the creative processes of artists from other disciplines and to collaborate with students from the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU, Music & Technology department)? Look no further and fill in the form by clicking on the button below before January 30th.

We have 3 spots for artists who would like to form duos or trios with students from the HKU and develop and present new work at Midnight Masquerade 2025. In this collaboration project you will be connected to one or two students and together you will have the opportunity to create something within our themes: identity, anonymity and/or (new) technology. We like to match artists from different backgrounds and different disciplines, because we believe that you can learn so much from other artists.

Details:

  • Period: February - May. It’s not a full time project, you can put as much effort in it as necessary.

  • Collaboration: based on your discipline, motivation and portfolio, we will connect you to one or two students.

  • Location: the work is going to be presented at Midnight Masquerade at De Nijverheid Utrecht in May.

  • Fee: there will be a fee available for you. More info on this later.

  • Feedback meetings: during this period we organise several peer-to-peer feedback moments, where you can discuss the process with the other artists from the other duos/trios. These are mandatory for this project, so check your calendar for the following dates:

Javier x Emily

Future folk performance with music and holographic dance projections.

Javier and Emily had the challenge to give a live performance with Emily being out of the country on the day of the festival. Their solution is a performance with Emily as a hologram, so they can still give the audience the idea that they are both on the stage.

DUO 3

Rosa x Lucie

Art installation temple of listening.

Do we really listen to all the sounds around us? What happens to your senses when you’re completely silent? Rosa and Lucie will give visitors a way out of the noise, into a temple of listening.
